There are 5 major comparison points:
- Earners per Household
- Marital Status
- Work Status
To me it is no surprise that with Household data, there seems to be some correlation between the five points and higher income levels. Now as we all know correlation is not causation but lets take a look at the stats. The lowest quintile averages less than half a person working per household. Conversely, in the highest quintile just under 2 people, on average, are working in the household. It may also come as no surprise that more people are married and have a college education in the highest quintile. As, I mentioned earlier correlation is not causation but if you are an unwed single parent with a part-time job and only a highschool education.....it is most likely you will be stuck in the bottom 40% of wage earner until you change your lifestyle.
